What is Permanent Makeup (PMU)?
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing treatment that enhances your natural features using carefully implanted pigment. At The Hollies Cosmetics, my aim is always to create soft, natural-looking results that complement your face rather than overpower it.
Will having Permanent Makeup hurt?
Most clients find the treatment far more comfortable than they expect. A topical anaesthetic is used where appropriate to keep you as comfortable as possible throughout your appointment. You may feel some vibration or light scratching, but most people describe the treatment as very manageable.
How long does Permanent Makeup last?
This varies depending on the treatment, your skin type and lifestyle.

Which brow treatment is right for me?
Microblading creates realistic hair strokes and is ideal if you want the most natural finish.
Powder Brows create a soft, makeup-style effect and are suitable for all skin types, especially oily or mature skin.
Combination Brows blend both techniques to create beautifully soft definition with added fullness.
During your consultation, I'll help you choose the treatment that best suits your skin, lifestyle and desired result.
Will my brows look natural?
Absolutely!
Creating natural-looking results is at the heart of everything I do. Every treatment is individually designed to complement your facial features so your brows look beautifully balanced and naturally enhanced.
Will my brows be very dark?
Immediately after treatment your brows will appear darker than the healed result.
Over the following few weeks the colour softens significantly, revealing a much more natural appearance.
How long does healing take?
Most healing takes place over 4–6 weeks.
A perfecting appointment is then carried out to refine the final colour and shape if needed.

Lip Blush
Will Lip Blush make my lips look bigger?
Lip Blush cannot physically increase the size of your lips, but it can create the illusion of fuller lips by improving definition, restoring colour and balancing symmetry.
Can Lip Blush correct uneven colour?
Yes.
Lip Blush is ideal for improving uneven pigmentation and restoring a fresher, more even tone while maintaining a beautifully natural finish.
Will I still need lipstick?
Many clients find they wear lipstick much less often after Lip Blush. You'll wake up each day with beautifully enhanced lips that already have soft colour and definition.

Lash Lift and Tint
Is a Lash Lift better than lash extensions?
They're simply different treatments.
A Lash Lift enhances your own natural lashes without adding extensions, making it ideal if you love a natural, low-maintenance look.
Can I wear mascara afterwards?
Yes.
After the first 24 hours you can wear mascara as normal, although many clients find they no longer feel the need.
Aftercare
Can I exercise after my appointment?
For the first few days it's best to avoid activities that cause excessive sweating, as this can affect the healing process.
You'll receive full aftercare instructions specific to your treatment.
Can I go swimming?
It's best to avoid swimming, saunas and prolonged water exposure during the initial healing period.

When can I wear makeup again?
This depends on the treatment, but generally makeup should be avoided directly over the treated area until healing has progressed.

How do I book?

Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes.
A 50% booking fee secures your appointment and is deducted from the cost of your treatment.
